Silesian Risings Museum is situated in the historic building in the Polaka 1 St. It was built on the project prepared by Emilia and Georga Zillmann in 1907 for the administration of the Donnersmarcks Principality. In the years 1916 – 1939 it was the place where the commune office was sit, later between 1945 -1989 it was the militia headquarters, and since 1989 police headquarters. On the New Year’s Eve 1999/2000 the building was burned and for the next years it waited for renovation.
The revitalization began in the spring 2013. The roof with a characteristic tower was rebuilt, and the same was done with the ceiling on the second floor. All the installations and windows were changed. The construction got new plaster and floors. The elevation was cleaned and restored so that it did not differ from the historic one. The lift was also rebuild and the whole building was adapted to all requirements of a museum.
